Rotimi Obembe Mourns Don Williams

Rotimi Obembe, Fan of Don Williams

I was at Bukky’s place behind my office (Alimosho Standard) yesterday to relax. I broke the news of the death of Don Williams to everyone and I was surprised how Rotimi took the news. Rotimi is in his late 20s, you would ordinarily expect an old guy to like Country Music, but his case is different.

Rotimi, an Abesan resident, brought out his phone that has almost a hundred tracks of Don William’s songs and started playing. He almost wept. He told me it is a great loss to him despite that he did not meet Don personally.

For him, delivering on election promises is of utmost importance and he feels personality, rather than party affiliation should be the basis on which people are elected into public offices.
An Economics graduate from the University of Ilorin and a father of two, ABM, as he is fondly called says if we want to change anything in the society, getting involved in governance is the way forward. Evans Promised To Attend My Thanksgiving Service- Chief James Uduji (Kidnap Victim)

The day of the kidnap

On September, 2015, as I was coming back from my factory in Agbara to my home in Festac, arriving Seventh Avenue, I saw four gun men. They stopped in front of my vehicle and started shooting while I was with my two drivers in my Hilux pickup.

I was sitting at the back, thinking they were policemen. I was wondering why they were shooting and charging at us not knowing that they were kidnappers. In the process, they shot us, me and two of my drivers but luckily, nobody died. I still have a bullet in my body. By the time I realized they were kidnappers, they dragged me out of my vehicle to their own Lexus 470 Jeep. Inside their Jeep, there were lots of arms and ammunition inside a box. They had another box at the back where they put me in.
